One-to-one

Yoga and counselling complement one another beautifully

Health conditions

Chronic Health Conditions
These can be difficult to live with and come to terms with. The practices of Yoga can help
alleviate symptoms of many conditions and can often clear them up completely. Having
imperfect health can cause anxiety, depression or other mental health issues which can be
addressed through counselling.

Bringing these two disciplines together provides a powerful means of getting to the root of
your experience.

Conditions that can respond well to this approach include asthma, Type 2 diabetes, lower
back pain, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, ME, MS, many stress related conditions for which GPs
can prescribe medication to mask the symptoms but struggle to find the cause, such as a
range of digestive disorders, and skin conditions.

Acute health conditions
A crisis of health can bring with it a whole range of emotions such as grief, anxiety, depression, anger etc. Working with a combination of yoga and counselling can provide an outlet for these emotions, possibly help alleviate symptoms, help you maintain calm perspective of your situation, and provide a valuable emotional support to you as you journey through this challenging time.

An example of this is for those undergoing cancer treatment. Research has shown that yoga could help to reduce anxiety, depression, fatigue and stress for some patients. And it improved the quality of sleep, mood and spiritual well being for some people. Testimonial:
Yoga with Mark is a real highlight of my week. The classes give a real balance between the physical movement I need and the emotional/spiritual connection to my body, to enable me to live a fuller life with MS”.
