About me

Yoga and couselling complement one another beautifully

My background

I have been curious about the workings of the mind since I was a teenager, and discovered Buddhism when I was 16. I began practising Yoga aged 20, and soon after travelled to India for a four month foundation Yogic Studies course at the world renowned Bihar School of Yoga. This was just the beginning. I completed my Yoga teacher training with Swami Pragyamurti in London, and then returned to Bihar to live in the ashram and immerse myself in Yogic culture and practice. Finally, after 7 years there, in 2012, I returned to the UK and settled in Devon.

During my stay in India I had found a psychotherapeutic understanding vital to the journey I was on. So on returning to the UK I pursued my training in psychotherapy.

I am now working combining these two disciplines which is very much at the cutting edge of psychotherapeutic care providing relief and healing to the whole person.

I have 2 young girls who are enriching my life and provide joy and challenges in equal measure!

Qualifications

I’ve worked in a wide range of environments – with adolescents, adults and elders, in private practice, local government, schools and corporations.

I have extensive experience of working with clients with chronic health problems.

I’m an experienced group facilitator and trainer of yoga teachers in Yoga Nidra and meditation. An integral part of this role was offering the necessary support and guidance to the members of the group.
